freedom for everyone…

I took this photo in Las Vegas, and decided to play with it in Photoshop Elements just in time for the 4th of July.

Well, um… hi. Long time no blog.

I’ve been kind of busy lately. First, I bought a house. Then I went to Vegas to be best man at an Elvis wedding. Then I got laid off from my job and now am looking for work.

This is a test post. Go me, I guess.

Merry Christmas…

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to my friends and family, online and off. It’s here and gone in the blink of an eye. I hope everyone gets a chance to enjoy the day however you want.

The holly picture was taken a couple of years ago during my trip to London; it’s no doubt covered in snow now along with the rest of the city.

Christmas comes to the hospital…

Mom and I were at the hospital today. She had some tests done, and on our way out we saw these two gorgeous horses:

These horses had a very important passenger... Santa.

As it turned out, there was a Christmas party for young transplant¬†patients¬†and their families. These horses had the honor of drawing a carriage with the most important guest of all–Santa Claus! The horses were almost as popular as old St. Nick himself.

The real guests of honor, of course, were the kids. The party was closed off to the rest of the hospital, but every so often you saw children with their families go in and out with their presents, a sparkle in their eyes. Santa even comes to the hospital.

blinged-out pen…

try stealing this, buster

Mom got a couple of pens with a box of Christmas cards. I ended up with this one–the other one is exactly the same, except the colored crystals are blue. It’s the kind of pen you’d imagine Barbie or Hello Kitty would use. It writes in conservative black ink, which is probably not what you’d expect from something this bright.

A bit over the top? Definitely. On the other hand, who would steal it off my desk?
